I first heard about these folks when I read this article about Angine de Poitrine. They are similar in that they are talented musicians who play what they want and don't necessarily do what is expected or fit into a specific genre.
Well, then how do you describe them? Well, "Experimental Prog Punk" are the genres from discogs.com. I would add they are often metal-ish, math-ish, and noise-ish; maybe some post-hardcore and post-metal too. One could also say that they have jazz elements.
I love that hard-pin-down aspect. They are technically solid, but don't sound like they are showing it off and trying too hard. They are in a solid rotation and I may add more in the future.
Oh, check them out Live on KEXP, July 13, 2026, too.
