Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 6, 2026
Simple Calculator is a simple calculator app with loan, interest, currency conversion, and history tools, developed by Hades Strom. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any information related to your use of the app. This Privacy Policy explains our practices in a clear and straightforward way.
This policy applies to the Simple Calculator Android app. By using our app, you agree to the practices described here. We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the core features. Any data recovery operations are performed locally on your device.
We built Simple Calculator to provide useful calculation tools without needing personal details from you. Most features work entirely offline with local storage on your device. We use certain third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, advertising, and other technical needs, which may involve limited, often anonymized data.
This Privacy Policy follows Google Play Developer Program Policies, GDPR (for EU users), CCPA/CPRA (for California users), and CalOPPA.
We do not collect any personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location directly through the app.
We may receive limited, non-personal data from third-party services:
App usage and crash data via Firebase (unidentified/anonymized for improvement purposes).
Advertising-related data from ad networks (e.g., device identifiers for showing relevant ads, but no personal details shared by us).
Local data you generate (e.g., calculation history, loan details) stored only on your device.
No user accounts or sign-ins are required.
For users in the EU/EEA, our processing of any limited data relies on:
Legitimate interests (improving app stability, performance, and user experience via analytics and crash reports).
Consent (where required, e.g., for certain notifications or personalized ads).
Compliance with legal obligations.
You can withdraw consent or object to processing by managing device permissions or contacting us.
The app requests the following permissions only for specific features. You can manage or revoke them in your device settings at any time:
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To send notifications about app updates, reminders, or relevant features to enhance your experience.
INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required for Firebase services, currency conversion (if online), and loading ads. Without internet, many online-dependent features are unavailable.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM and USE_EXACT_ALARM: To schedule precise calendar event reminders so notifications arrive exactly when due.
READ_CALENDAR and WRITE_CALENDAR: To read, display, create, edit, or delete calendar events and reminders within the app.
REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS: To ensure calendar reminders are delivered reliably without being delayed by battery optimization.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: To restart reminder services after device reboot.
These permissions support core features like reminders and ensure reliable operation. The app does not use them for any unrelated purposes.
All user-generated data (calculations, history, loan info, etc.) is stored locally on your device using secure local databases (e.g., AndroidX Room). It never leaves your device through our application unless you explicitly use online features.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect any technical data processed through third parties. However, no system is completely risk-free. We do not make guarantees of 100% security. We do not share any of your personal data with third-party companies, services, or individuals beyond what is strictly necessary for the integrated services described.
We use the following libraries and SDKs. Each has its own privacy practices:
Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics: Collect unidentified app usage data (feature engagement) and crash reports to improve performance and stability. Data does not personally identify you. Firebase Privacy Policy
Glide (com.github.bumptech.glide:glide): Efficient image/media loading and display within the app. More details in the Glide GitHub repository (open-source library with no direct user data collection for our purposes).
AndroidX components (Lifecycle, Room, etc.): Help manage app architecture, local database, and prevent memory leaks. These are local and do not transmit data externally.
Koin: Lightweight dependency injection for better code modularity (no data collection).
Retrofit, OkHttp, Gson: For network requests (e.g., currency rates) when needed. Data handled per their secure practices.
Google APIs (Calendar): For calendar integration. See Google Privacy Policy.
Other dependencies (Multidex, Lottie, etc.) are technical and do not collect personal data.
We encourage you to review their policies via the links above.
Yes, the app shows ads via Google AdMob, AdX, and Facebook (Meta) Audience Network. These may use device identifiers and other technical data to show relevant ads and measure performance.
Analytics: Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage insights.
Ad Policies: Google AdMob Policies and Meta Audience Network Policy.
You can limit ad personalization through your device settings (Google Ads settings or similar).
The app does not use traditional browser cookies. Third-party SDKs (ads/analytics) may use similar technologies like device identifiers or local storage for their functions.
We process minimal data:
Technical/crash data (anonymized) → Improve app.
Ad-related identifiers → Show and measure ads.
Local calculation data → Provide features.
No sensitive personal data is collected.
Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Third-party services retain data according to their policies (e.g., Firebase). We do not retain personal data centrally.
The app offers in-app purchases and paid subscriptions.
All payments are handled securely by Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or see your payment details (card info, passwords, etc.).
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing date. Manage or cancel via your Google Play account settings. You keep premium access until the current period ends.
Google may share limited, non-personal purchase details (e.g., subscription status) with us to unlock features.
Refunds follow Google Play’s rules—request them through Google Play.
We do not share purchase information with third parties except as required by Google for verification.
All transactions follow Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, or port your data. Contact us at the email below to exercise these. We respond without undue delay.
California residents can request access, deletion, or opt-out of data sales/sharing. We do not "sell" personal data. Contact us to exercise rights. We do not discriminate based on rights exercise.
We do not respond to Do Not Track signals as the app has limited tracking. Manage preferences via device and ad settings.
Any data sent to third parties (e.g., Firebase in the US) is protected by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards as per their policies.
We design the app to avoid malware and misuse. Use official stores and keep your device updated. We do not engage in or support network abuse.
The app may contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before use.
The app does not target or attract children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn of such data, we take steps to delete it.
We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
We may update this policy. The "Last Updated" date will change. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Check back periodically.
