Quality Assurance (QA) All Columbiana County youth showing an animal project must attend one (1) Quality Assurance session each year between October 1 and June 1 in order to be eligible to show. This update includes all Pocket Pet and Saddlehorse exhibitors. Youth who are old enough may choose to take a “test-out” option instead of attending a session. Call Audrey at 330-870-1165 to schedule an appointment Assuring Quality Care for Animals combines the existing state-required Youth Food Animal Quality Assurance program with comprehensive instruction in animal handling, care, and welfare. This expanded curriculum builds on what is already in place, strengthening coverage of essential topics such as quality assurance, food safety, and responsible animal management. Through its components, the program also helps increase public understanding of why proper handling, care, and welfare matter not only in livestock production, but also across the companion animal and performance animal sectors. For more information about Quality Assurance or QA test-out, please contact Audrey Dimmerling at 330-870-1165 or dimmerling.13@osu.edu.
