How does Columbia Music Boosters support our students?
We attend and value our students’ performances.
We support our music instructors by volunteering our time as chaperones, set-up helpers, parade walkers, uniform fitters, and concession workers so they can create performance opportunities our students need to sharpen their skills and grow their confidence.
We provide funding for small and large items. For example, in the past year, we have purchased instruments like Eagleview Glockenspiels, Parkview ukuleles, and CMS instruments necessary for a good band but out of reach of an individual family’s budget. We have invested in classroom audio-visual equipment and new speakers for choir performances. We have upgraded CHS marching band uniforms and color guard flags. We provide scholarships, camp sponsorship, and assistance with funding for special projects, contests, and performances every year.
We advocate for music program continuity, course availability and class sizes conducive to meaningful student participation, learning, and performance opportunities.
How does Columbia Music Boosters accomplish all of this support?
We raise most of our funds through sponsored events such as football, basketball and track concessions, our annual trivia night, and other fundraisers.
An increasing amount of fundraising comes from corporate, organizational and individual donations. If you want to donate, we are a 501(c) 3 entity, so your donation is tax deductible!
How can I participate/help out? What are the benefits of membership?
Become a member! To become a member, each family must volunteer for at least one event/activity per school year. There are NO dues or financial requirements, only the requirement to donate time or service.
As a member, your child can apply for a partial summer music camp scholarship.
As a member, you will be provided information regarding contests and performance opportunities beyond the scope of regular class requirements.
We have monthly meetings on the second Monday at 7 pm in the High School Band Room. Attendance at meetings is not required for membership, but we would love to have you join us!
As a member, you will have the satisfaction of knowing we have worked together towards making our music programs the best they can be.
Thank you for supporting our music students and programs!
We hope your student experiences a fun, challenging, and rewarding year in their music program(s).
Our organization is deeply committed to supporting our children’s music education at all Columbia Schools!
