Coloring Notes
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 17, 2026
Coloring Notes ("the app", "we", "us") is an offline mobile application for tracking adult coloring book collections, progress, and color palettes. This document describes what data the app handles and how.
Data we collect
No accounts, advertising, or content collection. The app has no backend and no user accounts. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your coloring notes, book collection, palettes, marker records, or photos. The only data that ever leaves your device is anonymized crash and diagnostic information, described under Crash reporting below.
Data stored on your device
All information you create inside the app — your book collection, notes, palettes, progress markers, and any photos you attach — is stored locally in the app's private sandbox using SQLite and the device's file system. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it through the operating system's share sheet.
You can remove all of this data at any time by uninstalling the app or by using the in-app data-reset action in Settings.
Permissions the app requests
Camera — only when you choose to take a photo of a colored page or a custom book cover. Photos are saved locally inside the app.
Photo selection — when you choose an existing photo for a colored page or cover, the app uses the operating system's photo picker. You pick a single photo to hand to the app; the app does not request broad access to, or read, the rest of your photo library.
Photo library (save) — only when you explicitly export a progress card or palette image to your photo library.
Each permission is requested at the moment it is needed, and declining it only disables the related feature.
Crash reporting
The app uses Sentry crash reporting to help diagnose technical failures. Crash reports are intended to contain technical diagnostics such as device model, operating system version, app version, stack traces, error events, and a randomly generated device/installation identifier used only to group related reports.
This crash and diagnostic data is transmitted to Sentry, a third-party service that processes it on our behalf. It is:
sent over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection;
collected automatically as part of normal app operation (there is no separate opt-out);
used only for analytics and app stability — to monitor app health and to diagnose and fix bugs and crashes — never for advertising; and
retained for no longer than 90 days, after which it is deleted automatically.
We configure crash reporting not to intentionally collect your coloring notes, book collection, palettes, marker records, photos, or other personal content.
Third-party services
The app uses no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. It does not make network requests for your coloring data.
The only external services involved are:
The operating system's share sheet, when you explicitly share an exported image or PDF. The app hands the file off to the OS; what happens after that is governed by the destination app's own policy.
App Store / Google Play, which deliver the app and its updates. Their privacy practices are governed by Apple and Google respectively.
Sentry, if crash reporting is enabled, to receive technical crash diagnostics so we can improve app stability.
Children's privacy
The app is designed for general audiences and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever begins handling data differently (for example, optional cloud sync), this policy will be updated and the change noted in the update history at the top of this document.
