Hi, I'm Sindhu Pillai! I am inspired by nature, and my work is largely based on places in the Augusta area, such as the Augusta Canal and the Savannah River.

Acrylics as the medium, the landscapes I paint are mostly the scenes from around where I live. Although my work has a realist emphasis, it is influenced by the context of my life. Periods, both of pain and of joy, imbue the landscapes I paint. By basing multiple works in the same area over time, I feel that my art, as a collection, reflects the beauty in a transient and dynamic view of Augusta’s nature.

My works were showcased at the Art League of Hilton Head 28th National Juried Biennale

(2023), Arts In The Heart of Augusta festival (2022, 2023), Westobou MICRO Gallery’s Daze Inn Exhibit (2023), Chola Art Gallery, India (2023). My self-taught style is influenced by artist Diebenkorn who thought “a landscape could be more freely interpreted”.
