As you’ve certainly heard by now, ventilators could be in short supply in our hospitals in a matter of days. Without a solution, our doctors could very easily find themselves in the same boat that Italy and Spain are in: Having to decide who gets a ventilator, and who dies.
Kevin Low of Gecko Robotics has designed two ventilator manifolds (splitters) that allow one ventilator to be used by two or four patients. The pulmonary team at Rose Medical has put this design to the test and given it the green light. And yes, a single ventilator is strong enough to ventilate 4 patients simultaneously. This could increase the number of ventilators we have available in the state by a factor of 4.
Our goal is to harness the incredible manufacturing power of Colorado Makers to help save the lives of our friends and neighbors.

Design it Digital is an online student design competition. Students are presented with three hypothetical scenarios in which a client is asking for a specific custom piece of furniture. Students can choose their favorite client project and design a solution using CAD and rendering software. This contest introduces students to challenges that designers face when making a custom piece of furniture. It also highlights the use of CAD software in our industry and provides an opportunity for companies to get involved with students and schools. Our focus is to engage young people into thinking about the many career opportunities available in the wood industry.
