The Colorado Energy Freedom Tour is a series of presentations in towns across eastern Colorado designed to engage folks on climate policy. The Tour includes opportunities to chat about how the people of Colorado can save jobs, increase business certainty, clean our air and water, and manage climate risk appropriately.
The Tour’s market-based carbon fee and dividend approach to energy reform would support small businesses and families and reduce emissions — all without burdensome EPA regulations or growing the government.
This year, it has become clear that the United States Congress could introduce legislation to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) and grow the renewable energy economy. As the conversation unfolds, everyone needs to have a seat at the table—rural and urban, conservative and liberal, people from all walks of life. Through a speaking tour, we aim to bring more people to the table to discuss these developments.
Volunteers from CCL seek to understand what citizens want addressed in national climate policy. For farming communities, CCL understands that the future must include economic protections so farmers, ranchers, and entrepreneurs can:
Carbon fee and dividend is the only climate policy option that addresses all three concerns of the agricultural sector.
