Cutthroats Finish Season with Almanac Game
The Cutthroats finished their regular season with a massive win over the Dragons. Many records and player feats were accomplished in this game.
Reichelt took the mound for the Cutthroats. He gave up a rbi-single in the first inning and the fourth inning-both off of Stelly's bat. Those would be the only two runs he would give out in the 7-inning complete game. He would finish the season with 55 innings pitched, breaking Mark Link's franchise record by one inning. He would also tie Link for wins in a season with 5.
On the offensive side, the Cutthroats got their first run off of a rbi-single by Rich Tramazzo. They would really break out in the third inning. Daub, Cordo, and Bielecki would all hit extra base hits. Reichelt, Dovey, and Hawley would all hit singles. The Cutthroats would bat around through the lineup. Daub's second at bat of the season would be a double and Cordo would hit a 3-run homerun to take an 11-1 lead.
In the fifth inning, Baughn and Reichelt would both get rbi-hits to increase the lead to 13-2.
In the sixth inning, Daub would hit his second triple of the day-bringing in Hawley. Baughn would follow with his second double of the game. The 'Throats led 16-2 after the inning.
The Cutthroats would have another big inning in the seventh. Herold and Reichelt would both get singles. Dovey then hit a 2-run double. After a couple walks, Cordo would hit a 3-run triple. He would then score on a passed ball to end the Cutthroats' scoring.
Joe Cordo would get Cutthroat of the Week honors with his 3-5 performance. He was a single away from hitting for the cycle. He finished with seven rbis.
The Cutthroats finished their regular season with a (13-4) record. Their 35 total bases would be the most ever in a game and it would be the third game that they got 20 hits. They also hit three triples-the second time they have done that as a team.
