Cutthroats Slay Dragons
The Cutthroats took on a new league opponent. The Dragons are a new team playing in the American League. They came into the game in last place in the AL with a (3-9) record.
The Cutthroats struck first with a rbi-double by Joe Cordo in the first. In the second, the Dragons would take advantage of some Cutthroat errors to take the lead 2-1.
The Cutthroats took off in the third inning. They would score seven runs in a row off of three hits, three walks, and two errors. After the third, the score was 8-2.
Reichelt started the game from the mound. He pitched six innings-only giving up one earned run in the win. Graham Baughn came in in the seventh inning, and got the rare three inning save.
Joe Cordo continued to terrorize the Dragons' pitching staff. He hit another rbi-double in the seventh inning. He then hit a two-run homerun in the 8th inning. He ended the game with a perfect 4 for 4 performance with 9 total bases-just one shy of tying the Cutthroat record. He would earn Cutthroat of the Week honors.
The 'Throats would take the 13-3 victory and improve to (11-3) on the season. It looks like they will be fighting with Cargo Gonzales Sports for the top seed in the American League. The Cutthroats will see the Dragons again at the end of the month.
