Game 4-11

Bats go cold against Hitmen

The Cutthroats' bats were put to a halt. Junie Chairez, the Hitmen's starting pitcher, pitched a complete game seven hitter.

Andy Daub started the bottom of the first with a double off of the wall. Wes Sconce followed with a single and Graham Baughn hit a sacrifice fly to center to make it 1-1.

Mark Link took the mound for the Cutthroats. He only had one bad inning that ended up being the big difference in the ball game. In the top of the 3rd, the Hitmen got a single, walk, and another walk to load the bases. Brandon Wartella then hit a shot to center field. Baughn had a good jump on the ball, but was just an inch short as the ball hit off the end of his mitt. All three runners scored to make it 4-1. Wartella was thrown out at third by Baughn in center field.

Joe Cordo stayed on a roll with solo home run in the bottom of the 4th to make it 4-2. That would be the end of the scoring for both teams. Cordo would take Cutthroat of the Week honors going 3 for 4 with a single, double, and homerun.

Jimmy Herold had a good day behind the plate, throwing four runners out trying to steal. Link picked up his first loss of the season, despite pitching a complete game.

The Cutthroats drop to (8-3) on the season. They will play the Zombies next week.
