Game 4-10

Longest Winning Streak Comes to an End

In the second game of the double header on Sunday, the Cutthroats ran out of gas. They knew that they were going to have to fight to win both games of the double header due to low attendance.

The Cutthroats gave up eight runs in the second inning, which really took the wind out of their sails. After two innings they were already trailing 9-0.

The one defensive highlight of the game was John Hawley's assist to home plate. With one out, Anthony Cirino hit a fly ball to center field that looked liked to be a sacrifice fly. Hawley made the catch and fired it home to get the dirtbag out at home.

The Cutthroats were on the verge of getting shutout, but they managed to put some runs on the board in the 7th. Kellen Sorauf started the inning with a single. Andy Rogers and Wes Sconce both got on with a hit and a walk. With one out, Joe Cordo hit a single that scored Sorauf and Rogers. Ken Reichelt followed with a sacrifice fly to center to make it 16-3.

The Cutthroats lost the game and their six game winning streak came to an end. Mark Link got Cutthroat of the Week honors-going 2 for 2 with a walk and a hit by pitch.
