Game 6-05

Zach Scott Pitches 2-Hitter

Colorado Cutthroats ace Zach Scott had one heck of an outing against the Denver Hops. He lost the no-hitter to just the second batter, but then went on to retire the next 14 batters. Henry Ziebarth finally broke that streak by stepping into an inside pitch to collect the bean. Unfazed, Scott continued his hitless streak for the next 10 batters until Ziebarth broke that streak as well. Overall, Scott retired 26 out of 29 batters, breaking numerous Cutthroats' records in the process. It was only the second complete game shutout pitched in franchise history. Mark Link has the other one.

The Hop's pitcher wasn't too shabby either. Neal Rosengren took the mound and also carried his shutout until the 5th inning. John Hawley reached base on an error and then two batters later, Jimmy Herold knocked him in for his second double of the game. Rosengren would not be credited with the earned run. He would leave after the 7th inning trailing 1-0.

The Cutthroats would score one more run in the 9th inning. Kellen Flahive led off with a single, followed by Sreyes Krishnan. After a double play, Graham Baughn would hit in Flahive to make it 2-0-which would ultimately be the final score of the game.
