Cutthroats 12 - Zombies 12
The Cutthroats got their first tie of the season. There's not supposed to be any ties in baseball, but there are in Denver NABA. Each game is given a time limit of three hours, and if the game is tied after the allotted time, then the contest ends in a tie.
The Zombies jumped out 9-3 through the first six innings. It wasn't until the 7th inning where the Cutthroats started their comeback. Jorge Fernandez and Wes Sconce started the inning off with back-to-back walks. Daub followed with a sacrifice fly to left to bring in Fernandez. Cordo, COTW, then hit his third home run of the season, tying the Cutthroats record, bringing the scored to 9-6.
The Zombies had three errors in the 8th inning, opening the door for the Cutthroats. After Jon Bielecki hit an rbi-single, the Cutthroats lead 12-9.
The Zombies were not done in their bottom half. Powers failed to find the strike zone and loaded the bases with zero outs. A few well placed grounders chipped away at the lead until it was tied up again at 12. With the bases loaded, time limit reached, and the scored tied with two outs, the last batter came to bat. A blooper over 2nd base almost gave the Zombies the victory, but a diving catch by Fernandez saved the Cutthroats from a loss.
The Cutthroats ended their regular season with a franchise best of (10-7-1).
