The Colorado Cutthroats limped into the halfway point of the season, after a disappointing loss to the Hitmen on Sunday. Riding a two-game win streak going into the game, the Cutthroats could not get anything going offensively and struggled on defense allowing eight unearned runs en route to a 11-1 loss.
The Cutthroats managed only three hits and two walks against the Hitmen starter, and although they only struck out five times as a team, they were not able to crack the solid Hitmen defense. Jon Bielecki's solo shot to right in the fourth inning was the only run of the day for the Cutthroats.
Bielecki also pitched the first six innings for the Cutthroats, allowing all 11 runs, only three of them earned. He allowed eight hits, two walks, and fanned four before giving way to Dr. Kellen Sorauf in the seventh.
Things don't get any easier for the Cutthroats, who face the top two teams in the league for their next two games, starting with the second place Zombies on Sunday afternoon.
NEXT GAME: at Zombies (6-2-1), Sunday, June 16th, 12:30pm, Green Mountain High School.
