Cutthroats Back In The Win Column

The Cutthroats entered the 4th of July break in winning fashion on Sunday afternoon, handily beating the Harvesters on a scorching day in Denver.With temperatures soaring into the 100's, the Cutthroats bats stayed hot putting up 14 runs to move their three-game total to 38 runs scored. The Cutthroats are boasting a .354 team batting average and .488 on-base percentage in that stretch.Leadoff hitter Mike Picchetti supplied the big blow on Sunday with a bases-loaded triple in the 2nd inning which accounted for 3 of his 4 RBIs on the day. Mark Link was on base 5 times thanks to a team record 4 walks and a single. Link also scored 3 runs. Dr. Kellen Sorauf continued his torrid June with a 3-for-3 day, rapping a double, scoring twice and driving in a pair. Jon Bielecki supplied some late fireworks with a double and an RBI triple in back-to-back innings.Bielecki started the game on the mound and went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs (2 ER) and striking out 6 to earn his first win in 3 starts.

The Cutthroats have next week off, but are back in action on July 8th against The Yetis, a team which is currently blocking the Cutthroats' path to the playoffs.
