The Colorado Cutthroats stumbled out of the gates on Sunday, getting blown-out by Loc Nar 23-6 to open the season.
Although Loc Nar had only 3 extra base hits, but 10 errors combined with 9 free-passes issued by Cutthroat pitching added up to several long innings at the plate for Loc Nar.
Although they hit the ball relatively well, several base-running errors cut short what might have been the start of a few rallies for the Cutthroats.
However, there were some moments of promise for the 'Throats. Jimmy Waidler had his first extra-base hit in Cutthroat green and made several solid plays at third base. Centerfielder Dr. Kellen Sorauf started the season off on the right foot with three ringing singles. Ken Reichelt had the big hit of the day for the 'Throats, a 2-run triple in the 3rd inning.
This week, the Cutthroats will take on league newcomers The Hitmen, who won their Opening Day game 13-12 against fellow league rookies the Bad News Bears. Mark Link will make his first start of the 2013 after coming in for 3 innings of relief against Loc Nar.
NEXT GAME: at Hitmen (1-0), Sunday, April 14th, 4:00PM, Machebeuf High School.
