I'm a total newbie with very little training, figuring things out on my own using training videos, forums, etc. Working in a new theater with all-new equipment and an ETC Element to run everything.

Getting lights up and down, setting cues, etc. makes sense. I think I've got that figured out. The results are really basic, but meeting the need.

However, I need to program in a couple of effects (at least, I'm assuming they're effects) into cues.

1) COLOR-SHIFTING RIVER LIGHTS

I need fixtures 70, 73, 75, & 76 to start out GREEN and shift to BLUE, while fixtures 71, 72, 74, & 77 start out BLUE and shift to GREEN. Then everything shift back to where they started, and loop the effect over and over until I'm ready for the next scene cue. Each shift should take about 3 seconds (i.e., the loop is complete after 6 seconds and restarts).

I need to add this effect to multiple cues through the show (basically, when the actors are standing by a river in various scenes).

Help! I can follow the video tutorials to create step-based effects and such, but I quickly get lost trying to apply those concepts to this specific need. Can anyone give me some step-by-steps to follow so I can figure this out?

2) LIGHTNING

The drawback to this is that every flash looks the same. If you do several effects with different squiggles and timing you can have variation. If you change "Continuous" to one shot you can place it on a fader or magic sheet button and fire it when the mood strikes.

Last but certainly not least, Eos videos Level 2 chapter 10 is just on effects. I recommend getting the workbook and such off the ETC site instead of just going to Youtube. -Family-Videos/Level-2-Enhanced-Skills.aspx

It works very similar to the paint effect. Use the appropriate type of tool to draw the shape you want to correct (in this case the blown out window) and adjust accordingly to your taste. The poly shape tool is probably going to be your best bet.

Thanks for the info. I have limited success with this but was able to use BCC Color Corrector using Pixel Chooser and choosing only the highlights. Worked very well, I put the BCC filter on first and then color corrected as I normally would.

Now, if a person wants to figure out how or if it's possible to keyframe such an effect, (I just figured out how to use the basics of the effect by trial and error, but invoking keyframing is beyond me with this effect) we're really in trouble.

- Duplicate your clip to the track above it (so the same footage is on V1 and V2, for example)

- Color Correct V2 in the manner you want

- Apply an Animatte effect to V2 (you'll have to option + drag it on the clip)

- Draw the shape you want for the mask and you can animate that.

I'm not sure I'm distinguishing - in your reply - the problems searching MC Help (in IE, in my case, but that's not the problem with help, which is that the effect doesn't show up in the list of Image effects at all) from those searching the forum.

Orange is another stimulating color that can trigger feelings like enthusiasm and passion. Its revitalizing nature is also said to boost the amount of oxygen that goes to your brain, making you feel vivacious.

Yellow is another intense, motivating color that triggers feelings of happiness. It tends to bring out your intelligence, wisdom, and creativity and is the most optimistic, hopeful color (probably because it's associated with sunlight). It's light and playful in small doses, but can be overwhelming or anxiety-inducing in large amounts (especially if you're already stressed). Lighter or pastel shades are less stimulating than bright hues.

Gray is the most neutral of neutrals and is associated with self-restraint or conformism at times, but also sleek sophistication and modern style. It has a calming, unemotional effect and can be somewhat draining on its own, but makes other colors stand out when used in combination. Darker shades of gray may make you feel edgier and moodier (similar to navy blue or black) while lighter shades feel more timeless and hopeful. Gray has less of an impact overall on your mood than other colors.

White is a light, neutral color associated with purity, innocence, and new beginnings. It has a decluttering effect and can make small spaces seem bigger, which can help stimulate your creativity and make you feel more refreshed and organized. However, too much white can feel sterile, harsh, or lonely.

Black is commonly associated with evil, death, or the unknown, but in small doses, can look luxurious, elegant, and powerful. Black is also associated with positive traits like comfort. It is a bold color choice for a living space, though, so try using black in small amounts before committing to it as a wall color.

Also known as chromotherapy or color healing, color theory suggests that specific colors and their frequencies have a physiological and psychological impact on your feelings and behavior. For example, a stressed or angry person might expose themselves to the color blue to calm down and lower their heart rate, while a person with depression may look at reds and yellows to increase their energy.

Through exposure to bright, cheery colors during dark winter months, a person may feel more warmth and comfort in their home. This combats the low-energy, depressing mood some people feel during winter, when the days are shorter and exposure to natural colors like blues, greens, and yellows is limited. Some studies suggest these brighter colors can actually elevate your dopamine levels.

i recently got the avid v7 and now tumbled upon my first problems. i have mxf media data to be ama linked into my project. if i put one of my ama linked file into a sequence it automatically puts an effect onto it which is called "color adapter". in the effect mode it is not removeable. i looked through the source settings, but couldnt find a way to get rid of the effect.

Hi sorry if this is obvious as I am new to Premiere but I am trying to use the change to color effect in premiere but when i search through my effects panel the effect itself does not come up. Was this effect removed from an update in premiere?

I have the latest version of the app and I am working on a 2020 MacBook with the M1 chip. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry for the confusion. Check the "Obsolete" folder in Effects. That said, I think that the effect may not have been retained in the M1 version of Premiere Pro. You can try Rosetta mode for your computer if you really need it.

The alternative is secondary color correction, which can take more time to set up along with new skills to master. Sometimes a simple effect is a better choice, though, so let the team know your ideas here: Premiere Pro User Voice.

It was removed because the code and the math involved in the effect were both ancient. Andd needed to be completely redone. And they felt the HSL secondary in the Lumetri panel could already do that job.

I work with a lot of colorists on a daily basis. Their testing of many of the effects in the "obsolete" folder indicated issues with the underlying math. This was back even before the obsolete folder was even created.

The colorists were getting 'broken' frames of video from their clients using Premiere. Who at times would try to "help" the colorist by doing part of the job themselves, and well ... the colorists were trying to figure out why those shots had bad bits in them. So they tested the effects their clients used ... and were rather critical of the math in them.

Most editors of course don't test their media for issues created in effects nearly to the level colorists do. So the editors don't 'see' the defects induced by some effects or the way they apply the effect. Doesn't mean it ain't there, though.

It is handy at times to be able to apply a simply single-job effect rather than a full-blown tool like the Lumetri panel, true. So Kevin's comment is the one to your point: search the UserVoice for others wanting that type of tool, and upvote. Add specific detailed comments for the reasoning and use!

Your feelings about color are often deeply personal and rooted in your own experience or culture. For example, while the color white is used in many Western countries to represent purity and innocence, it is seen as a symbol of mourning in many Eastern countries.

More research is needed to understand the mental and physical effects of color. Universal associations may exist, but many other factors, including personal preferences and individual experiences, also play an important role in your unique emotional and behavioral response.

My original comment is correct though, Vista will automatically use its understanding of colour to alter your amber, white and UV channels based on the effect you are creating here. If you apply the default colourmix wave and look at the DMX output of your fixtures you will notice that the A,W and UV channels are changing as appropriate. Like I said though, if you describe the end result you would like to acheive I might be able to offer some more suggestions.

I have some div block with color background with a blur effect in absolute position on my hero section and elsewhere.

On chrome, everything is perfect but on Safari the color of my Div Block change or there are squares that appear near to the div block blur.

Maybe this is NOT a bug and my misunderstanding of the use of color.

But, the code below used to change colors before:

Here is a table produced in an earlier version:

SNAPColors707530 122 KB

Yes, but with Saturation set to 100, the code still does not produce any color change on a black image.

It seems like to color scale is locked to black.

If I color the sprite anything other than black, then it works. 17dc91bb1f
