I think it's more plausible that there was no game made because there was no real idea how many pokemon there was at the time(150 kanto, 250 jhoto). also there was only four gym leaders each with diffrent obstacles to go through the challenges would be to hard to mimic on the gameboy though it would be easy and fun on the ds. The other factor that puzzles me is the orange league champion Drake uses a dragonite, drake is the same name they used in the kanto games and the jhoto games he is the charater you face after the elite four and he records you and your pokemon just as they did for ash after he defeated the orange league champion. In red blue yellow is known as chapion in jhoto he is also known as the dragon master. HE wears a pokeball around his neck just video game drake meaning that they must be the same person. So in a way they even though they don't have orange island gym leaders they still have the chapion drake which makes the game partly related to orange island. Though everything is just speculations And no one will no for sure but what we know is that the longer they continue to air Pokemon the more fans will become confused.

And let's talk a little more about Lapras. In the Generation I Pokmon games, riding on the back of your Pokmon through the ocean is an iconic part of the game. But in the anime portrayal of Kanto, this doesn't happen. Kanto in the anime is for some reason portrayed as a series of badlands full of rocks and dust devils. But in the Orange Islands arc, the twerps are traveling through an archipelago, so it's all about riding on the back of Lapras from island to island. This creates a nice key visual for this arc, and anchors the anime series closer to one of the core concepts of the Pokmon games, Lapras being one of the earliest designs, and riding on Lapras being one of the earliest proposed gameplay mechanics. We get a sense that the fandom appreciation for Lapras increased after it was so featured in the Orange Islands arc.

Mewtwo was a Pokmon that have been originally created by Team Rocket. Giovanni then used it in Pokmon battles at the Viridian City gym, but when it learned about his true intentions, it flew away. Mewtwo lured different Pokmon trainers to an island it took refuge and challenged them into a battle with its cloned Pokmon. When Mew stepped in, it fought against Mewtwo. During the battle, Ash stepped in between Mewtwo and Mew's attacks and gets himself petrified. Mewtwo was puzzled at Ash's actions at first, but when the Pokmon and cloned Pokmon's tears restored Ash to life, Mewtwo had a change of heart and flew away with its clones. Mewtwo met Ash again in the Johto region when Giovanni attempted to get revenge on it by capturing it once again. But Ash and his friends managed to stop Giovanni and Team Rocket and Mewtwo and its clones continued to live peacefully.

Ash encountered Lugia when the Legendary Birds were attacking each other as the world began to fall apart, thanks to Lawrence III's attempts to capture them. Lugia and Ash worked together to bring three treasures from the islands of fire, ice, and lightning and managed to save the world from destruction and calm down the Legendary Birds.

Interestingly, the Alola region actually bears a lot of similarities to the Orange Archipelago. Both regions are tropical and made up of four islands, and feature challenges other than straight battling to earn their equivalents of gym badges. The Orange Archipelago even features unique versions of common Pokmon like Butterfree, similar to Alolan forms. While the Orange Islands have never been featured in a Pokmon game, it seems the developers of Sun and Moon may have taken some inspiration from it, and it's possible that the anime decided these similarities made for a good chance to have history repeat itself. The Orange League's unconventional nature may have been the justification for why it didn't count towards invitations to events like the Masters Tournament, but none of that changes the fact that Ash actually managed to achieve a champion title over 20 seasons ago. At the time, it wasn't known if Ash would continue to be the protagonist into Johto, so letting him have this win ensured Ash's character arc would end in a satisfying spot.

Being an avid Pokmon fan I thought that someone gave me an old Pokmon cartridge. I was a little disappointed after taking a better look at the Pokmon cartridge. I noticed it was orange and on the label there was a Pikachu but poorly drawn, titled Pokmon: Orange Islands. A bootleg, I was holding a bootleg Pokmon game. But this made me even more excited, I remember the watching that season of the anime and loving every second of it, and I was excited to see how this bootleg reimagined this season of the anime. I rummage through my closet until I found my old Game Boy Advance.

I sat on the couch and picked up the orange cartridge, inserted it into the Game Boy and watched the loading screen, waiting to start, and a cinematic intro began, I was really impressed. The intro was a recreation of the Orange Islands intro, it was really impressive and well made until Ritchie came up. The intro seemed to glitch and cut off abruptly, I swear I thought I saw something about Ritchie change, but I was unable to make it out before it cut off.

We continued on our way until we reached the entrance to the orange league, but again the screen started to glitch out really badly, before the screen cut to black, once again I was greeted by the same photo I saw earlier. Although I was able to make out more features, it was a painting of an Angel that was heavily darkened, giving her face an uncanny expression.

But I decided to see this thing till the end, and I made Audrey enter the orange league and sweep other trainers to get my first medal, just like it happened in the orange league season in the anime. 17dc91bb1f
