LEASTA.
leasta is a large kingdom with a growing empire, having conquered just about every of its neighbors - except for the ever - defiant sen mor. the capital is located in what once was a dense forest, the trees long gone though, cut down for space and resources. the castle sits on a hill, with a lengthy walk to the city where the majority of nobles live.
the kingdom of leasta is one that values aristocracy; every move every person worth anything in the kingdom makes is almost always some ostentatious flaunting of their wealth or status. so much so its caused some tension with leasta's scholar society, who feel the people are too concerned with money and fashion, and the lack of interest in knowledge will eventually send the kingdom into an intellectual regression.
the ruler of leasta is decided by blood, and that ruler has ultimate say whatever decision they make. the current monarch is king archaius, who set out to finish his father's goal of unifying the continent under leasta's flag. although he has the final say in anything that happens, he does often seek the opinion and advice from a group of advisors in his court, which elis is a member of.

SEN MOR.
sen mor is a small yet powerful kingdom that sits near the ocean. before its conflict with leasta, it was once a popular travel spot for its large beach. the kingdom is built like a castle town, with the castle in the very center of the city. the kingdom also controls a small territrory in the mountains where those who seek heightened spirituality travel to. because the majority of sen mor is beaches and mountains, they rely on imports for a majority of their resources other than fish and goat, which predictably was impacted by the conflict with leasta.
sen mor gained its fame despite its size due to its military prowess, being a kingdom that values the strength of its soldiers, so much so that the ruler must be a warrior as well in order to earn the respect of their people. however, the kingdom also values the arts, housing those especially partial to theater and painting.
similar to leasta, sen mor's ruler is determined by blood, however ruling behind the monarch is a group of highly esteemed women - the elders. their opinion on matters are usually held in high regard and going against their word is often viewed as a deliberate act of defiance. however, recently the citizens of sen mor have began to wonder if the elders are too set in their own ways and have caused stagnation in sen mor's development. some also have started to wonder if they go out of their way to undermine the monarch, this becoming especially questioned when they begin to act as shadow rulers following queen larmina's death.
ester currently holds the title of the monarch's second, which was a role that despite long existing in sen mor's texts, had went unfilled. they were very obviously granted the position as a loophole for larmina to give her adopted child the power she felt they deserved as much as a child of her own blood. the elders didn't take well to this decision, which most believe because it gave ester more power than them.
