After applying to many colleges, the next step is to wait. Generally, people start receiving most of their acceptance letters by May. When this time comes, you will have to determine and decide what which college is right for you academically and financially.

Acceptance Letters & Financial Aid Package

Throughout the spring, you will be receiving acceptance letters along with Financial Aid packages. These letters and packages may come in the mail or through email. It is important that you check your email DAILY and frequently. 

Once you get an acceptance letter and/or financial aid package, bring it to the college office.

Necessary Documents

After talking with Jerome and deciding on a college, you will need to complete a couple steps to secure your enrollment to the college. This includes

Commitment Fee/Waiver

• • This is a fee that needs to be paid in order to secure your spot for the upcoming fall. This waiver may be waived depending on your financial aid/income/Opportunity Program

Housing Deposit/Forms (if going away)

• • Deposit and forms to secure housing spot if going away. 

Immunization/Health forms

• • Forms acquired by your doctor/clinic and sent to the college. 

Orientation and Class Registration

• • Orientation is usually a day to a couple days long where you are invited to the college and explore the different buildings and facilities on campus. Usually students tend to be registered for classes on during orientation. 

Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (if taking out loans)

• • If you need to take out loans, you must complete Entrance Counseling and sign the Master Promissory Note on https://www.studentloans.gov using your FSA ID

All these tasks will be emailed to you by your school with instructions on how to complete/submit these documents. If not, Google the school name and the task. For example, "Hunter College Immunization Forms" or "SUNY New Paltz Orientation"
