College4Less QuickCourse (“QuickCourse,” “the App,” “we,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App uses, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
QuickCourse does not require you to create an account with the developer. We do not request your name, email address, phone number, or Apple Account password.
Some optional cloud features require you to be signed in to iCloud. Apple provides the App with a unique CloudKit identifier. The developer does not receive your Apple Account credentials.
Your course progress is stored locally on your device. This can include:
Completed lectures
Course progress
Progress-check and quiz results
Final-exam results
App preferences
Downloaded narration resources and generated audio
QuickCourse does not upload your course progress, quiz scores, or final-exam results to the developer’s cloud system.
Removing the App or clearing its data may remove locally stored information.
QuickCourse uses Apple CloudKit to provide optional surveys, privacy choices, and sponsored opportunities.
If you choose to share demographic information, the App may store:
Your selected age range
Your selected demographic description
Your five-digit ZIP code
A CloudKit-generated user identifier
The App’s identifier
The date the information was provided or updated
Providing this information is optional. You may continue using QuickCourse without sharing demographic information.
General surveys or sponsored opportunities may still appear when demographic sharing is turned off.
If you answer a cloud survey, the App may store:
The survey and question identifiers
Your selected answers
A CloudKit-generated user identifier
The App’s identifier
The response date
The identifier helps prevent repeated survey responses and allows associated cloud data to be deleted.
When demographic sharing is enabled, QuickCourse may also record limited interactions with cloud surveys or sponsored opportunities, such as whether a survey was displayed or completed or whether a sponsored opportunity was displayed or selected.
Aggregate impression and selection counts may be maintained to measure campaign performance.
Cloud information may be used to:
Provide general or relevant surveys
Select sponsored opportunities that may be relevant to an age range, demographic selection, ZIP-code area, or participating app
Prevent surveys from being repeatedly presented
Measure survey participation and sponsored-opportunity performance
Maintain and improve the App and related College4Less services
Cloud information is stored using Apple CloudKit. Apple explains that CloudKit provides developers with a unique identifier without giving them access to the user’s Apple Account information. More information is available in Apple’s privacy information.
QuickCourse may display developer-managed sponsored opportunities. These are delivered through our CloudKit system and not through Google AdMob.
We do not sell your demographic information or survey responses to advertisers. The App does not use an advertising identifier to track you across apps or websites.
Selecting a sponsored opportunity may open an external website. Once you leave QuickCourse, that website’s privacy policy and data practices apply.
QuickCourse uses Kokoro speech technology to generate course narration directly on your device.
The text used for narration and the generated narration audio are processed locally and are not uploaded to the developer or to an external speech-generation service.
The App may download the Kokoro model and voice-resource files from GitHub when narration is first prepared. GitHub may receive standard network information associated with that download, such as an IP address and connection information. QuickCourse does not send your course activity, survey answers, voice recordings, or generated narration to GitHub.
Information about GitHub’s practices is available in the GitHub Privacy Statement.
QuickCourse offers an auto-renewable subscription through Apple’s App Store.
Apple processes subscription payments and manages billing information. The developer does not receive your complete payment-card or banking information.
The App uses Apple StoreKit to determine whether your subscription is active so that premium content can be unlocked. Apple’s privacy practices apply to App Store purchases.
The developer does not sell your personal information.
Information may be processed by:
Apple, through iCloud, CloudKit, StoreKit, and App Store services
GitHub, when the App downloads the static Kokoro model and voice files
Websites you independently choose to open from a sponsored opportunity
We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the App, or our legal rights.
You may decline to provide optional demographic information.
When demographic sharing is enabled, the App provides a privacy screen where you can update your information or select “Stop Sharing and Delete Cloud Data.” This removes the demographic profile, survey responses, and linked cloud activity associated with the App’s CloudKit identifier. Local course progress is not affected.
You may also contact us to ask questions or request assistance with cloud-data deletion.
Aggregate campaign counts that no longer identify an individual user may remain after deletion.
Local information remains on your device until it is removed by the App, by you, or when the App’s data is deleted.
Cloud information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the described features, operate the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. User-linked cloud information may be deleted through the available privacy controls or by contacting us.
QuickCourse is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the App, please contact us so that the information can be reviewed and deleted as appropriate.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App’s features or data practices change. The revised policy will display a new “Last Updated” date.
