At Collars Off LLC, we believe that there is no "One-Size-Fits-All!" This means that each dog deserves to be looked at as an individual with their own needs and personality.
Collars Off LLC uses Science-Based, Balanced Training Methods. This method focuses on understanding the psychology of how dogs learn and applying training methods backed by research. It gives the perfect balance of Positive Reinforcement, while still giving room to use aversive techniques when appropriate. We use Science-Based, Balanced Training Methods to establish clear communication to guide each dog toward success!
All training techniques and tools used are catered to each individual dog! Any techniques and tools used will be discussed in depth during the In-Home Consultation. We make sure to educate each client on the hows, whys, and benefits of all the techniques, tools, and methods used, as well as the safe and proper use of them.
Our In-Home Consultation is the first step in your dog's journey. An In-Home-Consultation is a one-on-one meeting in your home to allow the opportunity to dive into your dog's background, health, previous training, daily routine, and the goals you have for the dog. This will allow the Trainer to fully customize a training plan catered to your dog.
My name is Autumn Glasscock - the Trainer behind Collars Off LLC!
I am from a small town in West Virginia where I currently am surrounded by lots of love and support from friends and family! Here, my partner Zach and I have our very own pack! This pack includes five of the most precious dogs I have ever met!
I have spent the last 5+ years working with and helping dogs feel more confident, connected, and understood!
My journey began when I adopted my mixed breed, Archie, who had suffered severe separation anxiety, lacked manors, obedience training, and even had a few behavioral problems up his sleeve. At the time, I did not fully understand what these issues were or how to help him. There were more hair-pulling moments for both him and myself, than I could count. From there, I decided to receive formal education, earn my Dog Obedience Trainer/Instructor Diploma, and commit myself to helping him develop a better outlook on the world and build a sense of security and confidence! With consistency and patience he had completely transformed into the quirky demo dog known today! Working and transforming him gave me both a personal understanding and hands-on experience of my passion. This experience helped shape the compassionate and realistic approach I use today.
In addition, I also have years of professional experience working with dogs! I started at a busy Dog Daycare. There I developed a strong understanding of how dogs communicate, pack dynamics, and how dog behavior unfolds in real time. Currently I am working as a Kennel Tech. at a local humane society alongside being a trainer. Working as a Kennel Tech. has been one of the most rewarding and eye-opening parts of my journey. I gained a lot of experience observing, training, and caring for a wide, endless variety of all different breeds, temperaments, and backgrounds. From unwanted litters of puppies, to shut down seniors, all have been an important part of helping me understand the individual needs of each dog. I also currently foster a broad spectrum of animals regularly. I strive to help them build a routine, structure, security, and provide whatever training needs they may require to help them find their forever home!
Both my formal education and hands-on experience has fueled my passion, built relationships, and helped me open up my own training business, Collars Off LLC. I am excited to have this opportunity and work with new clients, both dogs and their humans!
