Microsoft Teams is a team collaboration application developed by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft 365 family of products, offering workspace chat and video conferencing, file storage, and integration of proprietary and third-party applications and services. It replaced Microsoft-developed collaboration platforms such as Skype for Business and Microsoft Classroom. It had around 320 million monthly users as of March 2024. It has different features such as live chatting communication, creation of the team or group for collaboration with the team, channels that are used by the members of the team for communication without email, group conservation like instant messaging, voice over IP, and video call, support for more than 10,000 participants in the meeting, and education. It allows teachers to distribute, provide feedback, and grade student assignments turned in via Teams using the Assignments tab through Office 365 for Education subscribers. Quizzes can also be assigned to students through integration with office forms.
