Frequently Asked Questions:

Why are we having this tournament?

It’s fun! We’re celebrating the end of this crazy Covid year with this Dodgeball Tournament assembly PLUS we’re helping the PTA raise money in a fundraiser for new technology & student enrichment.

What about COVID-19?

We will be social distancing and following Covid-19 safety protocols. We are holding three separate tournaments by grade level this year for in-person learners instead of our traditional all-school all-day tournament to limit capacity and follow proper guidelines.

Who can attend the tournament?

Any in-person students or staff at Colerain Middle School!

We are disappointed that we will not be able to include remote learners this year due to capacity limits and social distancing procedures, but we look forward to next year when we can all be together dodging balls again once more!

Parents, we're so sorry - we don't have space for all of you to attend, but check out @CMSAdmin on Twitter throughout the day to catch a glimpse or check back here or the Colerain Middle PTA Facebook page afterward for highlights!

Who can play in the tournament?

Any in-person students or staff who would like to play are welcome to form a team and join the tournament. Teams should be comprised of any 5 staff or student combinations within your grade level or staff members that are available on the day of your grade's tournament. The team entry fee is $15 ($3 per player). Entry forms / envelopes with all player instructions and information can be picked up in the Main Office and are due back there (at the Main Office) by Wednesday, May 12 at the latest with the $15 entry fee.

We are disappointed that we will not be able to include remote learners this year due to capacity limits and social distancing procedures, but we look forward to next year when we can all be together dodging balls again once more!

Can remote students participate in Dodgeball this year?

We are disappointed that we will not be able to include remote learners this year due to capacity limits and social distancing procedures, but we look forward to next year when we can all be together dodging balls again once more!

If I’m a player, do I need a separate admission ticket?

NO! Your team fee covers your admission!

Can I sign up as an individual and be assigned to a team? Or what if I can only get two or three players together?

We’d encourage you to do your best to create your own team of five. If you’re not able to form a team, gather as many players as you can (or even just yourself is fine).

Turn in your individual name on the entry form to the office by May 12 (or the few people you’ve gathered). We’ll do our best to be sure that every individual or group smaller than the team of five is placed in teams to be able to play and enjoy the tournament.

Can teachers and staff play?

Sure, we hope they do! Teachers and staff can join student teams or form their own!

How do I get a ticket?

Purchase online for $3 (with a $0.50 credit card fee) -OR- Tickets will be on sale for $3 at lunch the week before the tournament from Thursday-Friday, May 13-14 and Monday-Tuesday, May 17-18.

How do I win prizes?

Come dressed in a mismatched outfit or wear a pair of CRAZY socks!! Or you can make a sign for your favorite team. The most outrageous socks or mismatched outfit as well as best sign will be awarded a movie-size candy pack. Mostly it's just for fun, but candy is good too!

When do Online Ticket purchases & donations end?

Online ticket sales and donations end on Monday, May 17 so we can be ready for the events starting the next day!

Will there be concessions?

We won't have concessions during the Dodgeball tournament this year. However, Kona Ice will be on-site in the afternoon after the 6-7th Grade Tournaments for students to purchase some good treats! Eighth Grade will do their celebrating outdoors on May 21 at the Eighth Grade picnic instead of the afternoon of their tournament.

Kona will be $3 Small, $4 Medium, $5 Large or $3 for souvenir cups.
