I've been playing Illbleed lately and it's really made me want to play Blue Stinger soon. Has anyone played both the US and Japanese versions of Blue Stinger? I understand they have different camera systems (JP is more Resident Evil static-like, and the US is third person floating). Do you prefer one over the other?

Update: I purchased the Arducam IMX708 fixed focus camera. It did work great with minimal fuss inside Octoprint 1.9.1. But since it was fixed focus, it was blurry. So, I returned it and got the Arducam IMX519 autofocus. The camera works fine inside OctoPi and on the RasPi 3B+. I can grab screen shots and catch a stream for X seconds. But I cannot get it to run inside OctoPrint 1.9.1. I have created a new post specifically addressing this, but as yet no answers.

Well, after getting a Ph.D. in webcams and the new camera stack in Octoprint 1.9.1, I fixed this issue. As mentioned, I upgraded my camera, but I wanted to see if I could get this one (v1.3) working. Did it!

That's great that you got it working. I'll give that a try tomorrow on my setup and see if it works for me. I did order a V2 camera, but it hasn't arrived yet, but I can use that on another project if the earlier version works well

How can I tell if a used camera I might buy (say on ebay) is an international version? Assume there are photos with serial number and other identifying info. None of the other identifying info/codes tip me off either way when I google it. (Specific example here is a Sony a7rII.)

I don't want to rehash what's already posted in the other threads. But it's a fact that international versions are steeply discounted when new. Certainly I need to account for that when bidding on a used camera, especially a very expensive one. I have both international and USA version lenses and am honest when I sell these on ebay, but it would be possible to not know (if bought used) or forget or intentionally omit this info in an ebay auction post.

This is all a matter of perspective , and from my point of view camera kit from sellers in the US is steeply discounted , compared to kit here in the UK , or elsewhere in the EU , because you don't have our consumer protection laws , the cost of which effectively have to be bourne by manufacturers and vendors ( the flip side of that is we effectively have a five year warranty on everything and you don't ) , and the resultant difficulty being that grey imports from outside the EU may not carry any warranty at all , due to duty not being paid hence I wouldn't buy new items that way .

I take your point about the serial number. I'm curious though so I'll keep checking this particular camera as I shop on ebay. Often there is a picture and when not, I just ask. So far, 3 cameras all had FCC logo and serial numbers starting with 3. One camera did not have FCC logo and had serial number starting with 5.

I wouldn't set too much store by that sticker on the bottom. Grey market sellers have been known to fake them to conceal the origin of cameras and to fool buyers. Think about it, they're only cheap stickers.

How to tell which version of camera raw I have? The only Google search I found answering this question refers to is 2 years old and seems to no longer apply. There is no File, Edit etc. menu on the new version of Camera Raw with (Photoshop/Bridge CS6). I do use Adobe Application Manager to do my updates telling me if a new version exists or not, nevertheless I would like to know.

Ah wait. I decided to go a little further. I noticed that my camera model will indeed show (at the bottom) but only for NEF and DNG files. If the image is psd, tiff or jpg. then it won't (Hmm! I wonder why that is?)
