Life on the Rim is a short interactive story I made using Twine, it follows the story of a small group of humans trying to survive on a hostile planet in the outer rim of our galaxy long after mankind colonized the stars. It is set in the pre-existing setting of the game, RimWorld, a story generator.
Story Overview:
Life on the Rim follows Jack McBlitzen and his pet megaspider, Aaron, as they struggle to survive both Jack's interpersonal relationships and the deadly world they live in.
Design Goals:
With Life on the Rim, I wanted to create a story that kept the reader engaged with memorable characters as well as through the use of it's interactive aspects, such as pacing-based dialog hiding and reader choices.
