As you begin to think about full implementation of MTSS, it will be important to identify resources that support teaching and learning within your schools. These resources include, but are not limited to: personnel, facilities, curriculum and interventions, time, data, budgeted dollars and social capital. Resource mapping is a strategy for identifying and analyzing the programs, people, services, and other resources that currently exist in your school. This information can help your school leadership team better assess the needs of the school and to make informed decisions about where to focus change efforts.
PBIS.org states that "Resource mapping offers a method to link regional, community, and school resources with an agreed upon vision, organizational goals, specific strategies for addressing problems, and expected outcomes so youth and families have access to the full array of services they need." Below is a small piece of a common implementation error document to assist in furthering your efforts.
