Read Write Think
Students can utilize the ReadWriteThink timeline creator to visually map out historical events, project timelines, or literary sequences. This is a simple, no frills tool. Students can easily input dates, events, and descriptions, organizing information chronologically. The tool does not allow for a lot of customization, other than adding text and 1 image to each event.
Google Slides
Google Slides can be used to create timelines in several different ways. Students can choose to use shape and line tools to design their own timeline wiht custom colors, images, etc. Or, they can use the built-in timeline feature to quickly start with a template and fill in their info. At the 1:40 mark of the video, you can see how easy it is to just use the built-in timeline feature from the Insert--> Diagrams menu options.
