The Workshop on Cognitive Aspects of Computational Language Learning and Processing will be the eighth edition of related workshops, first held with ACL 2007, EACL 2009, EACL 2012 , EACL 2014, EMNLP 2015, ACL 2016 and as a standalone event in 2013. The workshops aim to be a forum for the interdisciplinary discussion of cognitive aspects of language acquisition and loss and to draw together practitioners of computational and cognitive communities to discuss common long term goals, promote knowledge and resource sharing and possible collaborations between the communities.
The authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an extended version to a Special Issue on Computational Models of Language and Cognition in the Journal of Natural Language Engineering.
