A multidisciplinary group dedicated to advancing research, collaboration, and clinical practice in diabetes and cognitive health
Diabetes affects multiple organs, including the brain. Cognitive dysfunction is increasingly recognised as an important but often overlooked complication of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, with potential consequences for quality of life, diabetes self-management, treatment outcomes, and long-term health.
The Cognitive Function and Diabetes Study Group (COGNID) brings together clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals from different disciplines to advance understanding of the relationship between diabetes and cognitive function.
COGNID acts as a reference group for EASD in matters related to diabetes and cognitive function. The group promotes scientific collaboration, increases awareness, supports research initiatives, and facilitates the translation of knowledge into improved care for people living with diabetes.
