If you've been to one of the Jedi Temples, you've no doubt noticed that some people possess Force powers like push, pull, lightning, etc. We are not here to discuss those powers. They are an independent system and mechanic, and therefore not required for combat superiority. The abilities being focused on in this section are those that come with the sabers.
It is worth noting that you are vulnerable to being hit at the start and end of flip animations, and during the middle of dash animations. Take this into consideration before dancing circles around an opponent.
The videos below demonstrate different force moves.
A long dash.
A jumping short dash.
Multiple low flips with hits.
Multiple high flips with hits.
Below is a more in depth explanation of force dash and force flip. As well as how to preform these moves.
Perhaps the most useful of the two, and certainly the most efficient. Force dashes can be used for anything from getting around the map faster to feinting opponents, and they tend to consume less stamina than flips.
As with flips, there are two variations of dashes. The first is the short dash, which is produced when a player presses E once while moving forward wielding a lightsaber. If you jump while performing this dash, as seen in the clip above, you will be launched a bit further forward. Short dashes are typically combat dashes and are used either to feint or to escape an enemy.
The second type of dash is the long dash, which is what most people use when they're trying to travel quickly. It can be inefficient if the user's timing is off. It is produced when a player presses E and Right Mouse Button (RMB) rapidly while moving forward wielding a lightsaber. Long dashes are used to confuse opponents or, when in Makashi or Vaapad, to rapidly attack them.
Flips are more common to see than dashes, and are associated with climbing and dodging most of all. There is technically only one kind of flip, but due to a glitch in the saber movement mechanics, there are two types. Flips aren't used for transportation as much as dashes, but a low flip followed by a single tap of the Spacebar at the end will result in a longer distance than a full stamina bars' worth of dashing. It is possible to curve the direction of flips with shift-lock enabled, though this is considered an advanced practice.
The first type of flip is the high flip, which is produced when a player presses Ctrl while moving forward or backward. A saber is not required to be wielded for flips, making them ideal for noncombat transportation. High flips are hard to utilize in combat when it comes to landing strikes, but they are useful when attempting to escape combat to regenerate block or Force stamina.
The second type of flip is the low flip, which is technically a glitch. It is produced by pressing Ctrl + Spacebar at the exact same time while moving forward or backward. They are by far the more useful of the two variants, as they can often hit the weak spot behind your opponent's head, or break their stuns. If you do a low flip hit and tap your Spacebar at the end, you will be launched into the air while stunned and your opponent will be unable to hit you. Doing this same trick outside of combat grants you a considerable distance and jump height boost when traveling.
