We are a group of educational developers and other staff members devoted to graduate student development who meet regularly throughout the year as a community of practice.
All members of the Council of Ontario Educational Developers (COED) are invited to participate in our meetings. If you would like to join our CoP, please feel free to contact us directly!
We originally formed this COED community of practice in order to extend the conversations started at the New Directions in Professionalizing Graduate Students event in July 2023.

Our group meets online approximately once per month (dates for 2025/26 TBD) to discuss key topics in graduate education.
Each meeting begins with 15-minute presentation on the day's topic, led by a volunteer from the group, followed by one-hour of coordinated discussion among participants.
We will collect key points and takeaways from these discussions to share and revisit at our culminating day-long annual meeting in July.
Each July we generate potential topics for future meetings, but we welcome new topic suggestions from participants. Potential topics may include the following:
Distinctions among kinds of graduate development (e.g., professional vs career development)
Connecting and collaborating among different offices
Capacity-building and scoping for centralized and local programming
Strategies to engage faculty with co-curricular offerings
Resources for helping graduate students find pathways into educational development
