Pay close attention how to use classification tools and the small details within doing them. Good listening skills went a long way in this lab to remember how to do each step.

I would suggest paying close attention to instructions on how to do the data uploads and creation of points and such during lab. This lab was very detailed, and close attention is required perform the procedures

I felt that the best learning strategy for this lab was to do both the data collection using the Kestrel 3000 Weather Meter and the data entry using Arc Collector. This way you gain experience in using both devices/systems.

I felt that the best way to learn about this activity is exactly how we did, in this lab activity. We had a practice run of how to use Survey123 in class, and then we got additional practice when we created our own survey and did the data collections.

I would recommend that you do each part of the activity (hands on). Without doing each part you will have a hard time understanding how each piece of equipment works, and how the data is gathered.

I would suggest to listen very closely when the instructor is explaining how the tools work. Also make sure you practice using all of the tools so that you know how each works.

When you return to the field to take additional measurements, group members should switch up roles in measuring, recording, and holding the meter stick. Every member should do at least some of each job task.

I would recommend that each person of the group do each “job” at least once so that everybody has experience with all tasks of the activity. For example, everybody would model the sand, put in the tacks, run string, measure, and record data.
