Originally from Michigan, where I completed my BA and MA in Philosophy at Wayne State University, I completed my PhD at the University of Maryland, College Park under Jeff Horty before taking a post-Doc at Colorado College. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Law at Fresno State University in Fresno, California.
My main research interests are in Philosophy of Law and Ethics, with a focus on rights and defeasible reasoning, and the Philosophy of Race, with a focus on applying cognitive psychology to issues of race, racism, and identity.
When not doing philosophy, I enjoy spending time with my spouse and children, cooking, reading science fiction and history, and weightlifting.
