Allegory

Allegory: Oxford English Dictionary’s definition: “story, picture, or other piece of art that uses symbols to convey a hidden or ulterior meaning, typically a moral or political one.” Simply put, an allegory is a narrative that has a symbolic meaning. That is, the whole story, its plot, characters and often setting, are all elements that signify a second correlated narrative.
