KidSpy — privacy information for parents
This policy describes how KidSpy handles personal information when you use the parent side of the app to manage family tasks, rewards, and (where supported) child device screen-time features. If you use KidSpy with children, you are responsible for obtaining any consent your situation requires and for explaining the app to them in an age-appropriate way.
Who we are referring to
“We” refers to the operator of the KidSpy service. “You” are the adult using a parent account. “Child profiles” are accounts or profiles you create for minors to use the child app experience.
Information we collect
Parent account: name, email address, authentication identifiers (for example from Firebase Auth), and profile details you provide.
Child profiles: information you enter when creating or editing a child (such as name, birthday, and contact email used for that profile), plus task and reward activity linked to that profile.
Tasks and submissions: task metadata, proof files or photos submitted by the child user, status (pending, approved, etc.), and related timestamps.
Device and technical data: standard app diagnostics, device type, and similar information processed by our hosting and analytics providers as needed to run and secure the service.
Screen-time features (Android, where enabled): on-device processing and settings (such as daily limits) you configure may rely on permissions you grant on the child device; see in-app permission explanations for specifics.
How we use information
To provide accounts, authentication, and core app features.
To let you create tasks, review submissions, approve rewards, and manage child profiles.
To apply family rules you configure, including screen-time controls where the platform supports them.
To maintain security, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve reliability.
To comply with the law or respond to lawful requests where required.
Legal bases (where applicable)
Depending on your region, we may rely on performance of a contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (security and improvement, balanced against your rights), or consent where we ask for it explicitly. You can withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, subject to technical and legal limits.
Sharing and processors
We use trusted service providers (for example cloud hosting, authentication, and database services such as Google Firebase) to operate KidSpy. They process data only on our instructions and under appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users and the service.
Retention
We keep information as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you delete your parent account through the app, we work to remove or anonymize associated data in line with our backend processes and legal requirements; some residual copies may persist for a limited time in backups.
Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the nature of the service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong password and protect access to your devices.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us through support channels your product provides to exercise applicable rights. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
Children
KidSpy is designed for family use with parental involvement. Child profiles should be created and managed by a parent or guardian. The in-app “privacy” summary shown to child users is a simplified explanation and does not replace this policy for you as the account holder.
International transfers
If you use the service from outside the country where our infrastructure is hosted, your information may be processed in other countries with different data-protection laws. We use appropriate safeguards where required
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will adjust the “Last updated” date below when we do. Continued use of Kid Track after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy unless applicable law requires a different approach.
