About the CODE-AG Program
CODE-AG, a collaborative effort between Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, and Texas A&M University – College Station, along with Texas A&M AgriLife at Corpus Christi, aims to empower students by offering support, education, and hands-on experience in the application of data science and AI to agriculture. Through comprehensive training in these cutting-edge technologies, CODE-AG addresses challenges in the agricultural industry while equipping and expanding the next generation of the agricultural workforce.
Program Objectives
Increase students' interest in the field of data analytics/AI for animal and plant sciences.
Increase graduate enrollment in agricultural data science, guiding thesis production in agriculture-data systems.
Develop cross-training through virtual platforms and internships to enhance student skills in digital agriculture.
Program Benefits
Financial Support
Undergraduate students will receive up to $6,000 stipend. Graduate students will receive scholarships or Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA) with stipends as well as coverage for tuition and fees.
Collaborative Opportunities
Students will enjoy collaborating with and learning from other students and faculty from other universities, diverse backgrounds, and various STEM fields.
Travel Support & Conferences
Students will be eligible to receive travel support and opportunities to attend professional conferences.
Academic and Educational Opportunities
Students will participate in workshops, research seminars, trainings, hands-on experiences, internships and more to prepare them for entering the agricultural workforce or pursuing advanced degrees in the field.
