POPUX makes more sense when water resistance, an open-ear fit, and built-in MP3 storage matter more than a child-oriented setup.
Coby Kids vs POPUX Bone Conduction Headphones at a Glance
• Coby Kids’ biggest strength: a child-focused in-ear design with gel tips, dedicated buttons, and up to 24 hours of total playtime with the charging case. Trade-off: it is not designed for swimming, and its IPX4 rating covers splashes rather than underwater use.
• POPUX’s biggest strength: an open-ear bone-conduction design with an IP68 swimming rating and 32GB of built-in storage for MP3 playback. Trade-off: its 10-hour Bluetooth-mode battery life is shorter than Coby’s stated total playtime with its case.
• Coby Kids is for: children who need everyday wireless earbuds for a MacBook, schoolwork, travel, or casual listening.
• POPUX is for: swimmers and active users who want to keep their ears uncovered and listen without carrying a phone in MP3 mode.
• These products solve different problems. Coby is the more straightforward choice for a child’s regular laptop listening. POPUX is the more specialized option for exercise and water, with a design and feature set built around those activities. The key question is not which one has more features overall; it is whether the headphones are mainly for a child at a desk or for an active listener who may take them into the pool.

Coby Kids uses an in-ear design with gel tips and a small charging case featuring Simon the Sloth. The child-oriented styling makes it feel more suited to school, travel, and everyday listening than a sports headset. Bluetooth 5.1 provides a stated range of up to 33 feet, while auto-pairing is intended to make reconnecting to a device straightforward. Dedicated buttons handle functions such as answering calls and playing or pausing audio.
For MacBook use, that combination suits a child switching between remote learning, music, and videos. The earbuds offer up to 24 hours of total playtime with the case, which is useful when listening is spread across the day rather than concentrated in one session. Their IPX4 water resistance offers protection against splashes and spills, but it should not be confused with a swimming rating. The product has no headphone jack, so listening is wireless.
I’d choose Coby for a child who wants conventional earbuds for schoolwork, trips, and casual use. I’d skip it for swimming or for someone who specifically wants an open-ear fit. Its in-ear shape and gel tips may be a plus for a child who prefers earbuds, but they are not the right design for every listener.
POPUX takes a very different approach: it sits outside the ear and uses bone-conduction drivers. Its flexible titanium-alloy frame and adjustable strap are designed to keep the headset in place during activities such as running, hiking, gym workouts, and swimming. The stated IP68 rating is the major distinction here, making it the more relevant option for someone looking for headphones intended for underwater use.
It also has two listening modes. Bluetooth 5.4 supports wireless connection, including multipoint connection for switching between devices such as a phone and laptop. In addition, the built-in 32GB storage lets the headset play MP3 files without relying on a phone connection. The product description gives up to 10 hours of playback in Bluetooth mode and six hours in MP3 mode. That makes it more versatile for workouts or swimming sessions where carrying a phone is inconvenient, though the stated playback time depends on the mode.
POPUX is the one I’d consider for an adult or older user who wants an open-ear sports headset, especially for swimming. For MacBook listening, Bluetooth and multipoint support are useful on paper, but its sport-focused fit and features are a different proposition from child-oriented earbuds. Skip it if you want gel-tip earbuds, a child-themed design, or the longer total playtime figure specified for Coby with its case.

• Best for switching between a phone and laptop → POPUX. Its listed Bluetooth 5.4 connection supports multipoint switching between devices.

The phrase “best wireless earbuds for MacBook” usually points shoppers toward a familiar earbud shape and straightforward laptop listening. In this pair, Coby is the closer match for a child’s everyday setup. POPUX is not a conventional earbud at all; its value comes from open-ear listening, sports fit, water resistance, and onboard MP3 playback.
Likewise, a “spatial audio kids headset for MacBook” is not a feature established by either product’s listed specifications. Coby is child-focused, but the supplied details do not identify spatial audio. If that particular feature is essential, neither product can be recommended on the information here. And while POPUX lists a noise-cancelling microphone, neither product’s listed details establish that it is the “best voice assistant Bluetooth headphones for MacBook.” Buyers who prioritize voice-assistant support should confirm that their required controls and compatibility are specified before choosing.
I would choose Coby Kids for a child who mainly needs headphones for a MacBook, remote learning, travel, and everyday audio. Its child-focused design, gel tips, dedicated buttons, and stated 24-hour total playtime with the case make it the more direct fit for that job.
I’d choose POPUX instead if swimming or phone-free MP3 listening is the priority. For the typical child-at-a-laptop use case, though, I’d buy Coby.
Coby Kids is the more child-focused option, with an in-ear design, gel tips, and dedicated controls. POPUX connects to laptops over Bluetooth, but its open-ear, sport-oriented design is aimed at a different kind of use.
Coby Kids is listed as IPX4 water resistant, which covers splashes and spills. That is not the same as the IP68 swimming rating specified for POPUX, so Coby should not be treated as a swimming headset.
Yes. Its built-in 32GB storage supports MP3 playback without needing a live phone connection. The listed playback time is up to six hours in MP3 mode, compared with up to 10 hours in Bluetooth mode.
Coby lists up to 24 hours of total playtime with its charging case. POPUX lists up to 10 hours in Bluetooth mode and six hours in MP3 mode, so compare those figures by listening mode rather than treating them as identical measurements.
