About the Cobequid Speed Skating Club

Fast Blades, Great Friends: Welcome to CSSC!

The Cobequid Speed Skating Club (CSSC) is the friendly home of speed skating in Truro, Nova Scotia, and the surrounding Colchester County area! 

We believe that speed skating is an empowering sport for everyone, regardless of age or previous experience. Our mission is simple: to provide a vibrant, supportive, and safe environment where skaters can challenge themselves, learn new skills, and most importantly, have fun together.

Our Programs

CSSC focuses on Short Track speed skating, a dynamic and exciting discipline. We offer tailored programs designed for all stages of development:

• Learn-to-Skate: Perfect for beginners of all ages! This program covers basic skating skills, proper technique, and getting comfortable on skates in a low-pressure, friendly atmosphere.

• Skills Development & Short Track: For those ready to progress, we focus on refining technique, increasing speed, and building endurance.

• Friendly Competitions: While our main focus is fun and recreation, we offer our members the opportunity to participate in local and regional short track events for those who wish to experience the thrill of racing.
