The Rita Rossi Colwell Center honors the distinguished university professor renowned for her work combatting waterborn diseases and her advocacy for increasing the number of women in science and technology. This thoughtfully designed building serves as the headquarters of the University System of Maryland and is the home of its Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET). IMET scientists engage in marine and environmental research that drives the creation of new technologies designed to protect and restore coastal systems, and to foster improvements in sustainable resource use and human health.
NAVIGATION
Workshop activities will take place on the third floor of the Colwell Center. Look for the ample signage.
Workshop participants are asked to use the entrance along the western side of the Colwell Center building, facing the historic ship U.S. Coast Guard Cutter 37 (Taney). Please do not try to enter through the north door that faces Pratt Street, as this is reserved for use by other building tenants.
Please remember to wear your event badge at all times, so that building security can recognize that you are a registered attendee of the workshop.
ACCESSIBILITY
An elevator serves all levels.
All-gender singe-stall restrooms are located on the second floor. The first and third floors have multi-stall, single-gender (binary) restrooms.
Accessible seating will be reserved at the front of the conference room

Some activities and an evening reception will take place at the National Aquarium.
To take advantage of complimentary admission for registered workshop participants, our entire group must enter together. Located just two piers west of the Colwell Center, we encourage participants to make the 6-minute journey on land.

The Colwell Center does not offer attendee parking.
The closest public parking garage is Pier V Garage: 711 E. Pratt Street, Baltimore. Typical rate: $30/day.
