TRAINING SCOPE
The Coast Guard Officers' Course is a basic course by the Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) required of the selected candidates aspiring to be Commissioned Officers of the Philippine Coast Guard.
The training is designed to transform is designed to transform the applicants from their carefree civilian way of life to regimented candidate's life in the PCG service. This course will mold and develop each candidate for them to adjust to the intricate ways of the Coast Guard and shape them to be competent, reliable and effective members of the organization.
Objective
Acquaint student-officers with the actual functions of the PCG based on its charter and other related laws and policies of the government. Students who complete the CGOC-Sponsored should be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of Coast Guard Officer in law enforcement with all its processes and procedures and exhibit qualities of being a leader and capable of handling the pressure of the Coast Guard Service.
