A false suction line is installed above ground to bypass the underground line from the skimmerbox to the motor. The purpose of a false line is to allow pool owners to operate the pool pump when water levels drop below weir level.
It can be fitted with ball valves as well, which woud allow pool owners to “switch” between lines in the event that rain or top up from external water sources boost pool levels allowing for use of the original suction line.
Cost is dependent on the distance from the pool pump to the deep end of the pool and whether pool owners wish to have the dual function with ball valves. Additionally, access to the motor may determine cost.
A site visit would be required to measure and inspect the current filtration installation.
