CLOSING DECEMBER 2022
After much consideration and with a heavy heart, the decision has been taken to close the doors on Coastal Leisure Learning, effective from the end of 2022.
This closure has been brought about as a consequence of the Covid 19 pandemic and the national closures and restrictions which that brought about, closely followed by the aggression in Ukraine and the cost of living crisis. Although many of you have been joining in and supporting what we do, for which we are truly grateful, generally speaking there has been a "sea change" in peoples usual confidence and a general reluctance to re-engage with routines when we returned to what we now call normal, and this has heavily impacted on the number of attendees across the board. This has had a knock on effect to the viability of the classes and means that with regret we must close.
We have been offering leisure learning classes in the coastal corridor of Suffolk since 2011 as a Community Interest Company, formed by my colleague Pauline and myself following the closure of the provision we were offering through the high schools locally, and I'd like to thank my office colleagues Karen, Anita and Kala, for their dedication and enthusiasm for what we do together.
We very much hope that tutors with active courses will pick up the baton and continue with the classes as they currently are. It may not always be possible for that to happen, and if your learning journey finishes now, then my best wishes go to you all for luck in finding a different road to follow and continue. There is a list of tutors used by us and still continuing with classes under FAQ's - Useful contacts.
It has been a privilege to work and meet with you all, and share your enthusiasm, companionship and achievements. We have made many friends, shared experiences and laughter over the years, and will miss it all hugely. Many, many thanks for the memories you've given us all.
Warm regards
Sian Hart.
