Competitive Background
I competed collegiately on a tennis scholarship at Auburn University (1999–2002), where I won the All‑American Doubles Tournament and helped my team reach the NCAA Elite 8. During my college career, I achieved a #1 NCAA doubles ranking and a #19 NCAA singles ranking, and was named to the All‑SEC First Team in 2001 and 2002.
As a junior, I recorded wins over future world #1 players Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt, experiences that shaped my competitive mindset and coaching insight.
My post‑collegiate career includes multiple national titles — including the National 30s and 35s Clay Court Doubles Championships (2015) — and honors such as North Carolina Player of the Year (2012) and USPTA Male Player of the Year (2016). I’ve also been a USTA 5.5 Team National Finalist and achieved top‑5 national rankings in age‑group doubles.
In pickleball, I’ve competed in professional events including the US Open in Naples, bringing the same strategic approach and competitive drive that defined my tennis career.
Beyond the Court
My mission is simple: to help players enjoy the process of improvement, build confidence, and carry those lessons into life. I believe that sport is a powerful vehicle for character development, teaching life skills such as discipline, resilience, and teamwork. Through a growth mindset approach, I encourage players to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, and celebrate progress — no matter how small.
Whether you’re picking up a racquet or paddle for the first time, or fine‑tuning your competitive game, I’ll meet you where you are and help you enjoy the journey as much as the destination.
