Very Important Rules
Please read these carefully. Failure to meet these scheduling rules may result in you losing your lesson time. This policy is strictly enforced.
If we have a standing lesson scheduled, you are expected to pay me at the time of the lesson.
If you cancel for any reason or don’t show up, you are still expected to pay for the lesson.
If you cancel for any reason or don’t show up, you will have to pre-pay the following 2 weeks to hold your spot.
If you cancel multiple times, you may lose your standing lesson time.
Each client may have ONE TIME ONLY exception per year for true emergencies only, such as illness in your household.
Your lesson starts and ends exactly on time. Your time is blocked off for you. You should show up 15 minutes early to put your skates on and be ready to go at the start of the lesson.
Membership Requirements
All skaters need a current Learn to Skate USA or U.S. Figure Skating membership. These expire after June 30 of each year. You must renew your membership for the current year, which begins July 1, in order to test or compete during the current season.
Rink + Equipment Costs
Rink Admission: You are required to pay for both the rink admission and your lesson on the day of the session. Pay the rink directly at their front desk and payment is accepted through Zelle and Venmo for my lesson time.
Skates: Properly fitted skates make a huge difference. They should be snug and supportive, not broken in and floppy. Skates that are too small will be uncomfortable, and skates that are too large won't support your ankle properly. You can get your skates fitted by the directors at the rinks, or I recommend Blades by Todd at (817) 909-9993.
Private Lesson Costs (for New and Established Students)
New Students (Trial Lesson): To make sure this is a good fit for the student, we will do a trial lesson. This lesson is at the regular rate of $45 for 30 minutes. This is scheduled where there is availability. This lesson must be paid in advance prior to scheduling the lesson.
New Students (Standing Lessons): If we agree to proceed with lessons, understand that it typically takes 4-10 lessons to feel confident. To reserve a new standing lesson, I require payment for 4 lessons prior to the starting. This is $180.
Established Students: Private coaching rates for standing lessons are $45 for 30 minutes and $90 for 1 hour. Late payments after the lesson day will incur a $10 fee for each additional day of late payment.
