CoachFinder ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
To facilitate connections between coaches and players, we collect the following information:
A. Account and Profile Information
Identity Data: Name, email address, password, gender, and age group.
Profile Content: Profile picture, biography/blurb, services offered, coaching experience, and playing experience.
Availability & Pricing: Days of availability and session costs.
Optional Links: Links to your personal website or social media profiles (e.g., Instagram, TikTok).
B. Location Information
We collect Approximate Location Data (City and Area, e.g., "Auckland - South Auckland") to help users find local coaches. We do not track your precise GPS coordinates in real-time.
C. Verification Data (Coaches Only) To ensure community safety, coaches may apply for verification tiers:
Tier 1: Images of driver’s license (front and back), a photo of you holding your license, photos of you coaching (with minors' faces blurred), and optional coaching qualifications.
Tier 2: A clean Ministry of Justice criminal record check dated within the last 2 years.
Note: Verification documents are used strictly for identity confirmation and are not visible to the public.
D. Interaction and Booking Data
In-App Messaging: We store messages and conversation history between users.
Booking Details: Information submitted via the booking form, including field name, date, time, number of people, and session cost.
Reviews: Ratings and feedback left by users after sessions.
We use your data for the following purposes:
Core Functionality: To create profiles, display coaching services, and enable messaging/bookings.
Safety and Verification: To manually review identity documents and criminal record checks to verify coach profiles.
Community Moderation: To process reports of misconduct and facilitate the blocking of users.
Administrative Access: To allow our administrators to review verification requests and user reports via a secure admin interface.
CoachFinder takes the safety of minors seriously. Our age requirements are as follows:
Coaches: Must be at least 16 years old to create a Coach account.
Players Under 13: Must have an account created and managed by a Parent or Legal Guardian.
Players 13+: May create their own Player account.
Age Gate: Upon sign-up, users must identify their age group. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13 without parental involvement.
We do not allow children under 13 to create an account. Accounts for players under 13 must be created by a parent or guardian. If we discover a child under 13 has provided us with personal information directly, we will delete that account immediately.
CoachFinder does not process payments within the App. All session costs listed are for informational purposes only. Financial transactions occur directly between the coach and the player/parent outside of the App. We do not collect or store credit card or bank account details.
We provide you with full control over your data:
Editing Profile: You can update your profile information at any time.
Deleting Content: You can delete messages, session requests, and conversations within the App.
Web-Based Deletion Request: If you have uninstalled the App and wish to request data deletion, you may do so by emailing [coachfinderhelp@gmail.com]. Requests will be processed within 7 days.
Account Deletion: You may delete your entire account and all associated data at any time via the Profile Screen. This action is permanent.
Verification: Verification documents (IDs) are deleted as soon as the manual review is complete. We do not store images of your ID on our permanent database.
In accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you and to ask for it to be corrected if it is wrong.
Blocking/Reporting: You can block or report any user from their profile or within a messaging thread.
Moderation: We review all reports and reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our community standards.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information.
A. Message Security Our in-app messaging feature is designed to facilitate coaching arrangements while maintaining community safety.
Server Security: Messages are encrypted in transit (using HTTPS/TLS) and encrypted at rest (stored securely on our servers).
No End-to-End Encryption: Please be aware that messages are not end-to-end encrypted. This means that while unauthorized third parties cannot access your messages, authorized CoachFinder administrators may access message content specifically to investigate Trust & Safety reports (e.g., harassment, bullying, or safety concerns). We do not read messages for marketing or advertising purposes.
B. Data Storage We use secure third-party services (such as cloud hosting and database providers) to store your data. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and are prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
We use Adalo as our app platform. Your data is stored on their secure servers (located in the US/Global) and is handled in accordance with their security standards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the App and updating the "Effective Date."
Governing Law: This policy is governed by the laws of New Zealand and complies with the Privacy Act 2020.
