Under Atal Mahapan Vikas Abhiyan, Coop Shop Scheme was launched on 4th October 2018 in the State of Maharashtra. Various types of co-operative societies supplying agricultural commodities, dairy products, processed products in rural areas of the state e.g.

The government has approved to develop a system to provide clean, fresh, up-to-date agricultural commodities / products to the customers in the urban co-operative housing societies in the urban areas of the state through buying and selling associations, VKK organizations, farmers / farmer producing companies, women's self help groups.

These copshops are open in co-operative housing societies in urban areas / metro cities. The objectives include developing a marketing network for agricultural products, adding value to farmers 'produce, valuing farmers' produce, helping farmers 'incomes, and increasing farmers' incomes. Residents living in urban areas also need to have access to quality agricultural products at reasonable prices.

Objectives - To help farmers get better value for their agricultural produce. Reducing the number of intermediaries at different levels of farmers and customers / end users. To encourage farmers to add value to agricultural produce.

To provide business opportunities to farmer production companies, co-operative societies, women's self help groups in rural areas. To provide processed, milk, processed, etc. products produced by CBO to the citizens at a price consistent with the quality of the product and the product Creating collaborations between cooperatives, FPCs and women's self-help groups that are involved in agricultural production and processed products.


  • Types of COOP-SHOP: - This concept includes 3 types of COOP, implemented in collaboration with Co-operative Societies, FPC, Urban Housing Societies.1. Co-operative Shop run by Co-operative Housing Society: Under this concept, Co-operative Housing Society started co-operative shops in 100 sq. Ft. Area for marketing of agricultural produce, milk, processed food and other agricultural products of Co-operative Societies, FPC and SHG.


  • The housing society will coordinate with suppliers to create demand for the required product according to the needs of the residents. The Housing Society will appoint a person to run the copshop. The Housing Society will also follow up with the CBO for maintenance.


  • Running of shop in the premises of Housing Society by CBO: In this concept, Co-operative Housing Society in Urban Society has 100 sq. Ft space will be available for business on a 3 year lease agreement. The person will be selected by the Housing Society to run the copshop. The CBO will be solely responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the premises of the institutions.


  • Mobile Copshop in Housing Society: In this concept, Co-operative Housing Societies in urban areas will provide the space required to park the CBO's own vehicle. It will supply various products according to the needs of the residents. Sibo will hire a person to meet the demand and supply to run the project. So can charge what is needed to make planetary space available.


  • Current Status: - VSTF is successfully implementing Kopshop in urban areas through manpower efforts. In this copshop the products of co-operatives, FPCs and SHGs are being supplied in urban housing societies. To date, a total of 107 coupe shops have been run in urban areas with the above 3 types. Thane-15, Pune-20, Palghar-3, Raigad-2 coop shops have been started by our team.

  • 67 copshops have been started in Mumbai. Due to the popularity of copshops, a large number of copshops will be launched in other cities in the state in the near future. This number may increase in the coming days as it is popular in urban areas.


  • Implementing Agency: - This scheme is being implemented through Co-operation Department. Under the Atal Mahapan Vikas Abhiyan, VSTF is taking initiative to implement this scheme in urban housing societies with the help of CBOs in rural areas through manpower assigned to MCDC. In this, agricultural products from CBO, processed products and packaging of products are being integrated and sold.

  • Initiatives / Action: The Atal Mahapan Vikas Abhiyan team has organized various meetings with the Housing Society, CBO and Housing Society to create awareness about the Coop Shop scheme. Also CBO and Housing Society training. Necessary cooperation is being provided to the CBO and the housing society to facilitate the implementation of the demand / supply policy, scheme.
