FAQs
Questions About Cny Kink and BDSM Community
How do I join?
Just contact an Admin and they will give you some details about the process!
What is a munch?
A munch is a low-key meet-and-greet type event that usually takes place at a restaurant. These events usually take place in public spaces and discretion is requested.
What is a slosh?
A slosh is similar to a munch, only usually it isn't during meal time, but usually at a bar.
What are CNY K&BC events like?
Events are hosted by at least one CNY Admin to help welcome new members. If an Admin cannot make it, a KC will be there to host. The Admin (or KC) on duty will usually have nametags with them and will often be wearing a nametag with our logo on it, so be on the lookout for that to be able to recognize us! People are welcome to use whatever name they feel comfortable with at that point: a scene name, legal name, Discord handle, etc. Please respect what a person's nametag says, or what they introduce themself as. At in-person events, we ask people to use discretion when talking about kink/BDSM activities--be mindful of others who are not part of CNY who may overhear you.
I'm not super social. Is that ok?
That's totally ok! Everyone is encouraged to be themselves, go at their own pace, and participate as much or as little as they would like.
I'm brand new to kink and/or BDSM. Will I fit in?
We have people with all levels of experience. No one is born with kink knowledge and being brand new means that joining a group like ours is really a great place to be!
I can't come to many events. Can I still join?
Absolutely!! We have an awesome Discord server where you can chat with others even when you can't attend events.
I'm really not active in chat groups. Can I still join?
No worries! No need to be super active in our chatroom. If you do join the Discord, we just ask that you check in every couple of months to remain active.
I'm looking for a partner. Is your group a good place to find one?
Our group is not a dating site or a place to find a partner or a hook-up. We are a place to find community and education.
Questions about the kink and bdsm lifestyle
Do I need to know everything to start kinking?
No way! There is no one right way to kink. As long as everyone is safe and consents, do what makes you and your partner(s) happy. If you have questions we are happy to help you out though!
My cousin/friend/co-worker/sister/neighbor said BDSM is abuse. Is it?
No, BDSM is not abuse. BDSM is consensual. Abuse is not.
Where can I find some good resources?
