SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Jihoon Kang received his Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), Seoul, South Korea, in 2012. He was a senior engineer developing the medical imaging systems including Digital Radiography, Computed Tomography, and Photon Counting Detection System, at Health & Medical Equipment (HME) Business, Samsung Electronics Co., LTD. In 2015, he joined the department of biomedical Engineering, Chonnam National University (CNU). He is currently an ​Associate Professor in the School of Healthcare & Biomedical Engineering at the Chonnam National University (CNU), since his foundation of new department in 2021.

Prof. Jihoon Kang’s expertise is in the area of medical imaging system based on radiation detectors and related technologies will produce successful and significant results in the area of biomedical science and technology. He has authored 1 book chapters and more than 30 papers on medical imaging systems and related technologies in peer-reviewed journals. He holds over 40 international patents granted in the U.S., Europe, Japan and Korea. Prof. Kang also serves as an Editorial and Advisory Board Member of several international scientific journals.
